No banquet for you… not this year anyway
During the virtual Homecoming weekend that took place on Sept. 26, the NVU-Lyndon athletics department held their athletic Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
The week leading up to homecoming, some people on the Johnson campus were questioning why Johnson was not going to have their own ceremony.
“Lyndon holds their Hall of Fame ceremonies every fall,” said Chad Copeland, assistant athletic director of communications.
“At Johnson, we do a hall of fame mixer that is typically thrown during the homecoming weekend.”
Johnson Hall of Fame Board will not be hosting a mixer or induction ceremony during this academic year.
“This is kind of nice to have the year off,” said Copeland.
“Moving the ceremony to next fall saved us some money, and we can still fundraise during the meantime.”
The Johnson Hall of Fame Board has already selected the 2021 inductees that will be named soon. The board is planning on hosting the next ceremony in-person next fall.
