Cadets beat men’s tennis
The Northern Vermont University-Johnson men’s tennis team faced in state opponent Norwich University at Topnotch Resort on Thursday, March 28. The Badgers were overcome as the Cadets took the match by a score of 8-1.
The Cadets controlled most of doubles play as Austin Walters and John Folsom competed in #1 doubles but were edged by the Cadets losing 8-3. Colin Compagna and Trevor Newton dropped their doubles match by a score of 8-1 and in the final match freshman Garrison French and Kenneth Chandler fell by a score of 8-1.
Folsom earned the only win of the evening for the Badgers as he forced a third set against Norwich’s Sam Beiter. Folsom fell in the first set by a score of 6-2 but bounced back earning the win in set two 6-4. Folsom ultimately won the deciding set to give the Badgers their only point of the contest. The Cadets controlled the rest of singles action winning out.
