Husson halts Johnson
Brandon Corbo and Brandon Bosse each netted three goals to power Husson to a 14-2 win over Johnson State in a North Atlantic Conference men’s lacrosse game Saturday, April 19. The Eagles improved to 4-7, 4-4 NAC, while the Badgers dropped to 0-9, 0-7 in the NAC.
Corbo and Bosse were supported by teammates Nolan Brown who netted two goals with one assist and Kevin Nolan who contributed two goals with one assist as well. Fellow Eagle Vinny Visconti helped out with two assists. The Eagles dominated throughout winning 12 of 18 face-offs and attacked impressively with 37 shots.
Dalton Gomez and Matt Dekens each scored once for Johnson State.
Goalkeeper Jay Palmisano had a solid outing with 15 saves for the Badgers.
Husson opened the game with a 3-0 lead before Matthew Malek found Dekens early in the second quarter for the Badgers’ first goal. A few minutes later, Zach Shuttle found Gomez to score Johnson’s second and final goal of the game. Husson scored the game’s next ten goals unanswered to cruise to the victory.
The Eagles were impressive defensively with ten turnovers caused as well as going 16 for 16 in clearing.
