Women’s tennis player Annette Kaminski  has been named student-athlete of the week after going 4-0 in singles and doubles match play over the weekend.

Kaminksi, a sophomore, defeated her opponent 6-2, 6-2 to help the Badgers to a 5-4 win over conference foe MCLA on Saturday afternoon. The following day she went on to handily subdue her Lyndon opponent 6-2, 6-3 and contributed to the four matches the Badgers were able to take from the Hornets.

In doubles action, Kaminski went 8-2 and 9-7 with her doubles partner Deanna Brandstetter.

“These past two matches showed my love and determination for the game,” Kaminski said. “I played with all my heart and fought for every point on the court. I’m also so proud of my team for their efforts these past two matches. I couldn’t be more proud to be named student-athlete of the week. It is a perfect end to the season and a great way to represent Johnson Athletics.”

“Overall, Annette has been our most consistent player physically and mentally,” Kaminski’s coach Michele Whitmore said. “She has given 100 percent at every practice and at every match.”
