SGA reveals theme of this year’s Casino Night
On Feb. 5, 2019, the Johnson SGA hosted the Reveal party for the theme of the 42nd annual Casino Night. This year’s theme is A Royal Affair.
Every year the SGA’s Casino Night Committee picks a theme for the event in the fall and it is kept secret from everyone else on campus until the reveal party held in early February. This year’s reveal party was a big hit!
The night started at 9:00 p.m. when late night opened, and people started rolling in to see the big reveal. There was a countdown set up for 9:15 p.m. when the poster with the theme on it, made by Serve member Emmett Erwin, was revealed by SGA President Jessica Malskis and Vice President Dana Prouty who are also Casino Night Committee Chairs.
As the poster was being revealed balloons were dropped and they consisted of one winning ticket and the rest losing tickets. Whoever got the winning ticket was the first winner of a set of Casino Night tickets!
It was a great night. There were board games, music, and food to keep everyone happy and busy as things such as mugs, T-shirts, and even Casino Night tickets were raffled off. It was easy to tell that everyone at the reveal party was excited for this year’s theme and for Casino Night in general.
The SGA is so thankful to everyone that attended and can’t wait to show off all our hard work. Casino Night will be held on Mar. 15 in the Stearns dining hall at 8 p.m.
Something to look forward to in this year’s event is the great selection of food that will be completely different from any other past Casino Nights. There will also be a signature drink in the “21 and up” room that matches our theme.
The Italian Soda Bar will have an awesome selection of flavors. A big thank you to Sodexo for making all of that happen.
The auction at the end of the night is always a big hit. This year there will be all kinds of great prizes to choose from. It is sure to be the best night of the school year!
The Casino Night Committee works hard every year to put this night together and it’s all for a great cause! Tickets go on sale on Mar 3 after winter break!
Tickets are just $7 for students and $10 for community members. 100% of the proceeds go directly to the United Way of Lamoille County. So, break out your prom dresses and tuxedos and get ready to have A Royal Affair! We hope to see you all there!
